People of God,
We shouldn’t forget that a devoted relationship with God allows us to operate in religion, not because we are righteous without God, but that God made us righteous through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. Church should be a place where people find refuge and not a place where people point out others sin and don’t provide them any help to stop sinning and work towards becoming better, in Christ, as Christ would have us to act amongst believers and unbelievers. We should be bringing folk in and not ushering the needy out. Amen.
Since Christianity is a lifestyle, one can safely argue that therefore strength is drawn from Christians and relief is there for those who decide to yield to God, submit and cry out to God, making it an intimate and very personal relationship that allows God’s anointing to run freely in our lives, which flow into The House of God (Church).
The House of God is a place for the broken to bear witness to those Christians whose chains have been broken and who are delivered because of the relationship with God and because of God’s acts of kindness and faithfulness. His kindness and faithfulness is supernatural, a supernatural experience by way of The Holy Spirit, that is exercised or illuminated through the praise and worship of His People (Christians – We are the church). Amen.
A relationship with Christ allows for religion, a very regimented diet. A diet that emphasizes Christ as God, who has all authority and who is The God and Lord of the House (relatively and figuratively). Focus is on healing and not hurting. The focus is freedom from the chains of oppression and depression; a place of release and refreshment. It isn’t a place for monetary profits. Amen.
Let us draw in and not draw out those who have not yet professed a hope in Christ. Let us not draw away Christians who have extraordinary gifts from God and let us make room for us to freely worship Christ and not have to worry about “church hurt” because it has stopped the flow of The Holy Spirit in The House of God. Draw in and not draw out. Amen.
The Spiritual Church is within the Christians’ soul and breathes life and purpose into their flesh (physical). The physical church is also the sanctuary (brick and mortar). Let us choose to operate in obedience to The Most High God, letting the service (religion) be a place of edification and consecration, both as a whole and through personal experience (time with God). Finally, let us be a help and not a hinderance; “seeking The Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” @Matthew 6:33a
Today’s Scripture:
1 Thessalonians 5:19-25 KJV | King James Version
19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 25 Brethren, pray for us.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-25 CEB | Common English Bible
19 Don’t suppress the Spirit. 20 Don’t brush off Spirit-inspired messages, 21 but examine everything carefully and hang on to what is good. 22 Avoid every kind of evil. 23 Now, may the God of peace himself cause you to be completely dedicated to him; and may your spirit, soul, and body be kept intact and blameless at our Lord Jesus Christ’s coming. 24 The one who is calling you is faithful and will do this. 25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.
Mark 2:17 NLT | New Living Translation
When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
